  • A Journey That Chose Us: Our First Visit to Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri

Introduction: My First Attempt at Writing & Why I Chose This Story

I am a working professional with over 15 years of experience, and this is the first time I am writing something for the world to read.

For years, I have shared experiences, learning, and stories with friends, family, and colleagues. Somewhere along the way, I realized that I genuinely enjoy sharing—especially when an experience moves me, teaches me something, or quietly changes the way I look at life.
This blog is my attempt to share those moments with many more people, beyond my immediate circle—hoping that someone, somewhere, finds meaning, comfort, or inspiration in them.

And I couldn’t think of a better way to begin than with Shri Jagannath.

People, Patience, and Unshakable Faith— All in One Queue

At Shri Jagannath Temple, what struck me the most was not just the temple itself—but the people.

    People coming with hope.
    Hope of magic.
    Hope of answers.
    Hope that something will change.

Long queues filled with devotees from different parts of India, standing patiently for hours. Tired bodies, but smiling faces. There was faith—pure, unquestioned faith—in every step they took forward. No complaints, no rush—just belief.

You could feel it in the air.

Why Shri Jagannath Temple Felt Like the Right Beginning

    This trip was never planned.

My wife had an official trip to Bhubaneswar, and almost casually, the thought came up—why not extend it a bit?
My daughter and I had already planned that sometime in 2025, we would visit Shri Jagannath Temple together. That plan existed only in conversations and intentions—nothing concrete.

But sometimes, life doesn’t wait for planning.

What seemed like a coincidence slowly felt like Bhagwan’s own connection—as if the path was already decided, and we were just following it. No elaborate itinerary. No long preparations. Just a quiet pull that said, now is the time.

    The Beginning of a Series

This post is Part 1 of a series where I will share:

    • What it feels like to surrender plans
    • How faith shows up in unexpected ways
    • And how journeys like these stay with you long after you return

    I don’t claim to be a writer.
I’m simply someone sharing an experience—with honesty and gratitude.

If this resonates with you, stay with me as I continue this journey—one story at a time.

    Jai Jagannath
